Wearing shoes to work just got much more exciting, thanks to the recent SS24 collections, women's loafers have taken a wild turn. While having become a key staple in the day-to-day wardrobe, loafers have also become one of our favourite choices for both playful outfits and also, women's work shoes.
After analysing the recent shows, we're seeing many designers offering a perfect blend of intrigue and practicality with their collections, meaning loafers and the choice of shoes we have to work in have just got much more exciting.
We're going to be exploring all different types of loafers in this post, but first let's get into the topic we're most excited about right now, Loud Luxury. Whether you're familiar with the phrase or not, when you think about Loud luxury, the first things that come to mind are opulence, comfort and extravagance.
Picture bold colours, outrageous patterns, and luxurious materials, this season designers are not holding back. We've seen numerous different types of loafers within the SS24 shows, with designers bringing through intricate additions to their footwear pieces, including thick fabrications, animalistic metallic accents, and even another loafer coming off of the loafer, (yes of course that was COMME des GARÇONS).
So.. why are people playing with Loafers so much? Over the last few seasons, we've seen a huge surge in formal wear, including more modern tailoring and lots of elevated suiting. As well as this though, another key aesthetic we've seen (and been extremely obsessed with) has been maximalist dressing, which combined the blending of fantasy with reality in the most dream-like and escapism way possible.
